Buying your vehicle safely in NI

Buying your vehicle safely

Following the announcement from the Government, the sales showrooms in Northern Ireland are now closed. However, our great team is here to help and can provide Live Video Appointments,  Click & Collect, and Choose it NOW options to all customers to help you find that perfect vehicle. We are also able to chat through some Home Delivery options and our safe vehicle handovers at TrustFord’s Northern Irish offsite facilities.

We have introduced a click and collect or delivery service – to ask questions about these services call 0800 158 5959 or check these pages

We have also invested in video technology so our sales colleagues can remotely show you around any vehicle that you may be interested prior to purchase

And if you have a part-exchange vehicle we will ask you to share information using phone film technology to help us assess your current vehicle

Our colleagues will talk you through how you can help us safely handle your vehicle - please ask any questions in advance. Find out more about click and collect process

If we are delivering a vehicle to your home you will be talked through the process and how we will drop off your vehicle, paperwork and keys safely, for more information see here

For when we are able to re-open:

  • A mask or visor must be worn for the duration of the visit to the dealership and must be in place before entering. Walk in Customers may be refused entry if they do not have a face mask and we are unable to supply one.   Sorry, no mask – no entry.

  • Children under the age of 11 will not be required to wear a face mask if it is not possible to do so.

  • Visitors and customers who hold a valid medical condition or disability which makes it not possible to wear a face mask will not be required to wear a face mask.

  • All our colleagues will also be wearing masks

  • To keep numbers down we have asked those colleagues whose roles permit, to continue to work from home

  • If colleagues are needed on site then they have been asked to go on a rota, keeping the numbers on site at a safe level at all times.

  • All colleagues have been through our thorough online safety training before coming back to work and they all have access to non-surgical PPE at all times

  • To limit the time you need to be on site we have introduced and click and collect or delivery service – to ask questions about these services call 0800 158 5959 or check these pages

  • Our sites have been deep cleaned prior to re-opening and our cleaners are on site, regularly cleaning all work areas, door handles, rails, etc

  • Every desk area is thoroughly wiped down between every visit

  • When coming on site you will be met at a safe distance by the door and you will be asked to stop by the sanitiser station where we are offering the use of face masks, gloves and sanitiser.

  • We can still smile at each other but sadly for now we cannot shake your hand

  • We have marked out 2 metre social distancing areas in customer & colleague areas – this means our showrooms look a bit different as we removed some vehicles to create more space.

  • If you have an appointment with our Aftersales or Sales Colleague you will find that we have put up protective screens and sanitiser is now available on all our desks.

  • Keys and paperwork are now exchanged using clear bags and anti-microbial wallets

  • Unfortunately we can no longer accept cheques or cash payments

  • Where possible, we have also set up one-way systems with one door in and one door out – these will be clearly marked out

  • Sorry – but for now, we are unable to offer complimentary drinks and we have turned off our vending machines

  • New safety posters are up throughout our sites to remind us how we need to keep safe

  • To be on the safe side, we have turned off our hand-driers and replaced them with paper towels in our loos

  • Every purchased vehicle is handled throughout with the utmost care – we will always fully valet every vehicle purchased, sanitising every ‘touch’ area before handing it over to you

  • Behind the scenes our technicians also work at a safe distance from each other and all normal ‘touch’ areas in every service vehicle are wiped down before handing it back to you. See below.

  • We know that many of you would like to test drive a vehicle before purchasing it so we are offering unaccompanied test drives once the showrooms reopen. Depending on the vehicle there may be some restrictions.  We will ask you to leave your passport and recent utility bill (which we will store safely for you in a bag) while you take the vehicle out.  Please liaise directly with your local site for more information about how we can help you. Thank you.
